Hundreds of foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong dance for justice

Around 500 foreign domestic workers danced in unison in Hong Kong on Sunday as part of a global campaign to end violence against women.<br />The Hong Kong mass dance marked the first stop of the “One Billion Rising for Justice” campaign this year.<br />The “billion” refers to the United Nations statistic that one in three women on the planet – or one billion people – will be raped or beaten in her lifetime.<br />The rights of Hong Kong’s 300,000 domestic workers came into the spotlight in recent months after the abuse case of an Indonesian live-in maid, Erwiana Sulistyaningsih, ignited repeated protests in the former British colony.<br />No Comment | euronews: watch the international news without commentary | http://www.euronews.net/nocomment/
